Taylor and Perry’s Alaska Elopement Wedding in Girdwood, Alaska
It’s time to tell you all about Taylor and Perry's Alaska elopement that we recently planned along with all the details that brought their dream destination wedding in Alaska to life. From a small ceremony in the forest to a beautiful reception filled with insanely delicious food and live music, this special day was the perfect combination of love and Alaskan flair.
Embracing Nature:
Working with Taylor and Perry was nothing short of pure joy. They came to me, madly in love looking to elope in Alaska and wanted an adventure that would fulfill their desire of hiking and gourmet food while celebrating with their closest friends and family. One of our specialties here at AKhappenings is curating stunning and inspiring weddings and Alaska elopements that seamlessly blend our clients' love stories with the landscapes and after hearing their story I knew we needed to work with these two special people. With Girdwood's forests as the backdrop, over the past year we designed an elopement that showcased Taylor and Perry’s love for nature using the beauty of their surroundings.
Exchanging Vows Within the Forest:
Taylor, Perry, and there 12 guests embraced the Alaskan spirit, and enjoyed a hike to their ceremony location 30 minutes from the trailhead. Although the occasional buzz of Alaskan mosquitos were a tad annoying, thehike was memorable and reflected the couple's adventurous spirit and strong love for the outdoors. Surrounded by towering trees, Taylor and Perry exchanged their lifelong commitment. Together with the addition of Yarrow and Co.’s beautiful floral arrangements we transformed the forest into a romantic setting. As the couple shared vows, their words echoed through the woods, heard only by loved ones in nature.
Culinary Delights and Sweet Indulgences:
Nothing beats delicious food and hiring a private chef is one sure way to get exactly that. Alaska Roots Catering, known for their commitment to local ingredients, crafted a five-course meal that truly was worth talking about years from now. Dishes included Confit of Duck wings, Thai Marinated Venison Backstrap Salad, Raspberry Brined and Smoked Spruce Grouse Bacon, Shawarma Crusted Rack of Lamb, and of course Brioche Bread Pudding. I can honestly say it was the BEST meal I have had in at least five years!!
Dancing The Night Away:
To top off an evening of celebration, we arranged for a talented string quartet to fill the air. The live music set the mood inviting loved ones to share in Taylor and Perry's happiness on the dance floor. The sounds of laughter, and smiles created memories that the couple and their guests will treasure for many years.
An Alaska Destination Wedding to Remember:
Taylor and Perry's Alaska Wedding was not only a celebration of their love but also a destination experience that we had the honor to plan and design. We absolutely love when clients give us free rein to plan their wedding experience. From the adventurous hike to the intimate ceremony in the forest, incredible wedding vendors, lots of planning, and personalized touches mixed into the day we brought Taylor and Perry’s ideal Alaska wedding to life before they returned for a second wedding in their home state (because two weddings is better than one, right?)
