Out-of-state applicants
If you are planning a destination wedding in Alaska from afar you do not need to be in Alaska to apply for your license.
If applying by mail, you and your partner must print and sign your application in front of a Notary Public (The notary will sign and put their stamp next to their signature,) then mail your notarized application and check or money order to the following address:

Once the Vital Statistics Office receives the application they will call you to go over several questions with you. That is when they will get the return address from you to send the license back to you.
In order to have your marriage license mailed back to you (so you can avoid having to pick it up in person,) you need to include an additional $10 fee, bringing the total to $70.
